Journal of Iberian and Latin American Research ~ JILAR
(previously
Journal of Iberian and Latin American Studies ~ JILAS)
The academic journal of the Association of Iberian and Latin American Studies of Australasia is the primary vehicle for the publication of research by academics in Australasia and elsewhere. The journal is fully refereed, edited by an editorial committee based in Sydney and is genuinely inter-disciplinary, covering such fields as history, politics, international relations, sociology, literature, linguistics, cultural studies and popular culture. JILAR publishes contributions in Spanish, Portuguese and English.
An innovative feature of JILAR is that it makes
room for issues and debates, as well as articles and reviews on the art,
music, films, poetry and popular culture of the Luso-Hispanic world and
the Caribbean. We also review important new books.
Recent numbers have included special editions on Latin American Cultural and Subaltern Studies, Popular Culture in Latin America, Colombia and Venezuela, and Masculinities and Violence.
