Horizontes Mentoring

"Horizontes" is a mentoring initiative for HDRs and ECRs (including casual lecturers) available to AILASA members.

 

It will involve pairing an HDR or ECR member with a more experienced AILASA scholar to enhance professional development. This could include support/advice/feedback for job applications and/or book proposals, brainstorming grant ideas, article drafts, and mock job interviews.

 

We think these are key areas that could be of great help to the youngest, largest and most vulnerable cohort of our members.

 

As such, we would like to invite AILASA more senior members (from mid-career onwards) to express their willingness to volunteer their time for Horizontes. The idea would be that mentor and mentee would meet over 2-4 times per year on Zoom or in-person whenever possible.

 

The meetings will be held throughout 1 academic year.
