Prof. Alfredo Martínez Expósito completed his PhD in Spanish and Latin American Literatures at Universidad de Oviedo. Following a postdoc at Columbia University, he joined the University of Queensland as a Lecturer in Spanish in 1993. He was appointed Professor of Spanish and Head of the School of Languages and Linguistics, University of Melbourne, in 2011. Other roles: AILASA President, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Humanities, Fellow of the Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies, Chair of Excellence at Universidad Carlos III. 20+ editorial boards, including Hispanic Research Journal, Journal of Spanish Cultural Studies and Studies in Spanish and Latin American Cinemas.
